so...

I've pretty much moved to Facebook.

Sorry Xanga. We've shared a lot over the years.

To Be or Not To Be...(in a bus...)

So I want to travel out to Dartmouth for an admitted students event this month, april 18th-21st.

Ticket prices jumped yesterday from $400 to $750.  Ouch.  So it is either a very expensive plane ticket, or I can get a greyhound bus for $200.  The thing is...the bus ride is 48 hours to New Hampshire, 58 hours back.  Is the relative misery of a bus worth $550?

Thoughts?

Family

So I've decided that being home with family never gets old.  It can be frustrating, upsetting, pleasing, delightful, hilarious, and not-funny-at-all, all at the same time.  That's life, that's family.

It just never gets old.  Sometimes it just feels good to be home.

So hug your mom and dad today.  Don't take family for granted.

Alright, that's it for my preaching for today.

Tootles.

Would you...

Would you ever devote two years of your life to the Peace Corps, and serve in a country far away with a different language and culture than your own?

I hardly want to be the guy who brags about all of the things he's "going to do", but I really think that I will do something like this someday in my future.  Maybe spend my summers at Children's Haven International in Reynosa...or maybe go to Chiapas, Mexico with the Peace Corps.

I always struggle with the thought of leaving my family and friends for two whole years of my life, but I can't help but think that the experience would have a more profound impact on me than anything I've ever experienced.  There are some notable people who have gone on from the Peace Corps, for example, Mr. Alby spent time doing service, as well as many other people in the community.

There is no doubt it would be a life-changing experience.

Would you do it?

Singles Awareness Day

The day you've all awaited is soon here.  Singles Awareness Day (aka Valentine's Day) will soon be upon us.

While some (like myself) cannot wait to share the day with that special someone, others are left to spend the day without the comforts of the significant other that the holiday demands.

Therefore, a salute to all of you singles out there.  May you find happiness and contentment, no matter what the occasion or person you find it with.
